Rama is now giving me the cold shoulder. He pisses and moans if I leave the room but stays on the opposite side of the room. A little revenge for keeping him locked in the Bat Cave all day I hope. I don't know about you but this is NOT a face to mess with!!

Witness Jeru, in all likelyhood what Rama will look like in a year or so. A bit more charcoal than Rama I should think.

Witness Rama 1.0's older brother Babe soon after being introduced to Rama 1.1's sister Kali. Looks like they get along OK.

In the jungle, the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight...

OK, so it's not the jungle and he's not exactly a lion but the sleeping part amazes me enough as it is ;-\

Sorry, no pics today... The morning started well and Rama was totally beside himself to have me with him for the first few minutes. As he acclimates he is getting both more friendly and more demanding. He is pretty clumbsy in typical kitten fashion and bangs his head into things often at play. I can't stop chuckling about that drinking method where he stands in the bowl and licks the water off his paws.

Here is the poop on today. It started with some of my CD jewel cases deposited all over the floor. Pretty benign I thought for his first night.

Rama has already figured out rushing to the door to escape quarantine the second he hears me walking down the hall. He is a strong little bugger too. It is all but impossible to hold onto that ball of fir, teeth and claws when he makes up his mind. He still refuses to be held or restrained, even for a couple of seconds. One breeder tells me "welcome to the world of F1 Savannahs" and Rama's breeder says he will come around because her family was able to hold him. She says gentle persistance is the way. He is plenty calm when he plops down in my lap on his own, but forget about it if it's not his idea in the first place.

I let him unwind in the car before we left SFO to come home. It was instant purrs, head butts and kisses the minute I let him out. He went Tazmanian Devil in the car for about 15 minutes.

He slept nearly all the way home in the carrier and then screamed bloody murder the minute I got off the freeway. Minutes later he was exploring part of his new world.

Tuesday May 16th is the scheduled delivery date for Rama at about noon. Oh my, the adventure begins.

Edit: Make that 1:30 pm, the flight was changed and so was the courier (again).

I'm a wreck, some family emergency has caused the delivery date to be pushed to next week :-(

Rama (1.1) is a 13 week old F1 Savannah. That means he has twice the Serval in him that Rama 1.0 had (now 50%). I am assured that Rama 1.1 actually does have a penis ;-) The F1 is a very active and intelligent cat and they can get BIG. The breeder (Kim) says he is the best socialized kitten in the litter. His sister was bought by the owner of one of Rama 1.0's older brothers. It's a sort of small community so far. Rama 1.0 has been renamed Amonke.

Rama is being delivered to me some time in the next week from South Bend, IN. He will be traveling as a passenger with a courier. I am preparing the quarantine room this weekend.

Rama pulled a fast one on all of us and was hiding the fact that he is a she. That puts me back to square one. Brigitte will probably be getting some amazing kittens one day.
