Edward Norton was effective in the lead role but Paul Giamatti pretty much stole the show. Jessica has talent but didn't really get to display it here. It was a decent though predictable story but I won't running out to find the DVD.

In typical Savannah fashion Rama has taken all his content, lock, stock and barrel over to his new blog ramaspot.net.
The lead actors did a respectable job but it was a train wreck in most other respects.
The cast was effective and of course the material is well understood by now. There were no glaring weaknesses in the photography. I simply did not feel the whole equaled more than the some of the parts.
The acting was good and there was a fair amount of rock climbing. I always like seeing attractive women rock climbing. For some reason the suspense really didn't phase me at all. There was only one scene that made me cringe. Maybe I'm just jaded? The creature effects were above average. The bottom line is that unlike Alien, which this movie is being compared to, I was not drawn into the story. The Decent is worth seeing but nothing to write home about. One of the actresses looks just like Lara Flynn Boyle at the beginning of her career.
